Cookie Notice
Which cookies and similar technologies we use, and how you can allow, refuse or withdraw them.
Last updated: October 10, 2026
This notice explains which cookies and similar technologies abdinspections.com uses, what they do, and how you control them.
1. About this notice
abdinspections.com is operated by American Building Development (CSLB License #1060736) under the ABD Inspections brand. How we handle personal information in general, and how to exercise your privacy rights, is described in our Privacy Policy.
2. What these technologies are
Cookies are small files that a website stores in your browser. Similar technologies include browser storage (local storage and session storage), scripts and pixels that send information about your visit to a provider, and identifiers that recognize your browser on later visits. In this notice, “cookies” covers all of them.
3. How we ask for permission
- When you arrive, strictly necessary technologies run, together with the maps described in Maps and other embedded content. Advertising technologies stay off — they are not loaded, do not run, and do not store identifiers — until you allow them, wherever you are.
- Analytics in the United States: if your browser is set to a United States time zone, Google Analytics runs from the first page you view, so that we can see how the site is used. It runs without Google signals and without ad personalization. You can turn it off at any time with Reject non-essential or Cookie settings. It does not start on its own while Global Privacy Control or your sale/sharing opt-out applies. We only read the time zone setting in your browser for this; nothing is looked up or stored.
- Analytics everywhere else: off until you allow it, like Advertising.
- On your first visit, a notice offers Reject non-essential, Accept all, and Manage choices. Rejecting is as easy as accepting. Scrolling, closing the preferences window, or sending a form never counts as permission for Advertising.
- In Manage choices, you can switch Analytics and Advertising on or off separately. Changes take effect when you select Save choices; closing the window without saving changes nothing.
- You can request an inspection, call us, and use the whole site without allowing anything optional.
- Your choice is stored in this browser for up to 12 months in the
adc_consentcookie (your browser may delete it sooner, for example when you clear site data), which records only your choice, the time you made it, and the policy version. If we change our optional technologies, we ask you again; an opt-out of sale/sharing stays in place for as long as this cookie is kept. - If JavaScript is turned off in your browser, no analytics or advertising technology can run on this site.
4. Categories
Strictly necessary — always active
These keep the site working and secure, deliver your requests to our team, and remember your privacy choices. They cannot be switched off here. You can block them in your browser, but then the site cannot remember your choices, optional technologies stay off, and parts of the site may not work.
Analytics — on by default in the United States, otherwise off until you allow it
Measures how the site is used, including device information and pages viewed, so that we can improve it. Google Analytics runs on this site without Google signals and without ad personalization signals, also when it runs by default in the United States. You can switch it off at any time in Cookie settings.
Advertising — off until you allow it
Measures which ads and pages lead to calls and inspection requests, and supports our advertising. It may share device and browsing data with advertising partners, which California law may treat as a “sale” or “sharing” of personal information. Google Tag Manager, which loads our advertising tags, is itself loaded only with Advertising permission. Advertising stays off while Global Privacy Control or your opt-out applies.
5. Providers and technologies
Durations are the longest lifetimes set by each technology; some browsers shorten them. Information that a provider receives is also kept on the provider’s side under its own policies.

What our forms send with your request. With Advertising permission, the quiz and the forms also send the campaign parameters (such as utm_source) and ad click identifiers (such as gclid and fbclid) contained in the address of the page from which you send them, and that page address. Without Advertising permission, these are removed and the page address is stored without its query string. The site is set up so that the details you type into the quiz and forms — such as your name, phone number, e-mail address, property address, and message — are not sent to analytics or advertising providers.
6. Cookie settings
Use Cookie settings at the bottom of any page, or the button below, to see your current choice, switch Analytics and Advertising on or off, or reject everything optional.
7. Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information
You can opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information for advertising at any time. You do not need an account or to give us any information: the choice is stored in this browser and keeps Advertising off on this website. If JavaScript is turned off in your browser, the button below sends a simple form, and our server saves the same choice in this browser’s adc_consent cookie. If you use several browsers or devices, opt out in each of them, or turn on Global Privacy Control. The opt-out does not delete information already collected; to ask for deletion or for a copy of your information, see How to make a privacy request.
8. Global Privacy Control
If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, we treat it as a request to opt out of the sale and sharing of personal information for that browser. While GPC is on, Advertising stays off and cannot be switched on here, and once we have received the signal, we record the opt-out for this browser. Analytics then does not start on its own, also in the United States. The notice offers Keep optional off or Allow analytics, because Analytics remains a separate choice. Our website does not respond to “Do Not Track” signals, for which there is no common standard.
9. Withdrawing permission
When you switch a category off, we stop loading its technologies, block new requests to its providers, remove the cookies and browser storage of that category that this site can access, and reload the page so that no optional code keeps running. A withdrawal applies to new optional activity in this browser. It does not delete information that a provider has already received; for that, see your rights in our Privacy Policy.
10. Maps and other embedded content
Maps are part of the pages that show them and are not switched on or off by the categories above.
- Google Maps: a Google map is embedded on the Contact page and on some city pages, and on the Service Areas page when JavaScript is turned off. When the map loads, your browser sends your IP address, browser details, and the address of the page to Google, which may set or read its own cookies on its domains. Our office address is also shown as text on the Contact page.
- OpenStreetMap and Leaflet: the interactive map on the Service Areas page is drawn with the Leaflet map library, loaded from unpkg.com, and map images from OpenStreetMap (tile.openstreetmap.org). When they load, these servers receive your IP address, browser details, and the address of the page; no cookies are set.
- Fonts: the fonts on this site are served from our own server, so no font provider receives information about your visit.
11. Calls and call tracking
The site shows 916-269-5277. With Advertising permission, our call-tracking provider CallRail may show a different, tracking number instead, so that a call can be linked to the page or ad that led to it. When you call a number provided through CallRail, CallRail processes your phone number and the details of the call for us. Whichever number you call, we may receive your phone number and what you tell us, as described in our Privacy Policy.
12. Changes to this notice
We update this notice when our technologies change and show the date of the latest version at the top. If we add optional technologies or new purposes, we ask for your choice again before using them; an existing opt-out stays in place. A choice you have already made stays in place when this notice changes.
